Explore the green soul of the Gold Coast, Currumbin Valley, and discover the pure serenity of nature in an ancient land.

Drive just a few minutes from Currumbin beach and suddenly you’re immersed in the lush green hinterland of Currumbin Valley. This area forms part of Australia’s Green Cauldron, a distinctive Australian landscape of natural and cultural significance. This ecologically-rich, subtropical rainforest playground is only 1.5kms wide and 15kms long, bounded by sheer escarpments to the north and south, and dotted with crystal clear creeks and rock pools, cascading waterfalls and secluded picnic spots.

The Mt Cougal section of the world-heritage listed Springbrook National Park is located in Currumbin Valley, less than 15 minutes drive from the beach. This pristine tract forms part of the the Gondwana Rainforests of Australia, which include the most extensive areas of subtropical rainforest in the world. It offers its visitors a glimpse of our country’s prehistoric past; a hidden shelter for rare and endangered plants, animals and birds, some with genetic history that, amazingly, can be traced back to the subcontinent.

It is also the northern rim of a massive Mt Warning caldera, which stretches from Byron Bay in the south to the Great Dividing Range in the west.

Currumbin Valley is home to the world-famous Currumbin Eco Village. This shining example of sustainable living and eco-conscious community has deservedly won 26 awards, including the world’s 'Best Example of Sustainable Development' and 'Best Residential Subdivision'. It was also recently adopted by the Gold Coast City Council as Australia's first 'Innovation Estate', showcasing the Council's 'Bold Future' environmental strategies translated into a residential estate.

Currumbin Valley residents have immense respect for their environment, and the gifts it affords them, and they actively encourage others to do the same.
