Sports, sports, sports and more sports... its all a part of being an Aussie, whether you love a game of footy on the beach or a lazy walk around the coastline, to extreme adrenaline pumping sports like sky-diving, kite surfing or adventure races. The Southern Gold Coast has more sports than you can poke a stick at!

Football - Union, League, Soccer, AFL.
The Palm Beach Currumbin Simcorp Alleygators Rugby (Union) Club, your local, fully serviced licenced Club for members and visitors. The friendly club that offers Pokies, Keno, Live entertainment, icy cold beers and the best meals in town. We are just behind Currumbin Fair Shopping center. Come on down and say G'day.
Tugun Seahawks Rugby League Club formed in 1978 and is located adjacent to the Gold Coast Airport.
Currumbin Eagles Football Club (Rugby League) located on Galleon Way Currumbin Waters has both Junior and Senior teams!
Tugun Jets Soccer Club - The general aim of the club is to promote a positive playing environment for both elite and social soccer players (Junior and Senior teams)
Coolangatta Tweed Heads AFC - A great little Aussie Rules club based at Len Peak Oval Appel St Coolangatta.
Lawn Bowls - Coolangatta Bowls Club and Tugun Bowls Club provide a fantastic atmosphere, exciting tournaments as well as boasting excellent restaurants all in one place! Check out Sunday Barefoot Bowls at either of the above clubs to get into the swing of your holiday! Tapas menu's also available to enjoy with a beer and a game of bowls.
Golfing - There are numerous courses to hit the fairways in and around the Southern Gold Coast! Try Coolangatta Tweed Heads Golf Course, Coplicks Tallebudgera Valley, Meadow Park Golf Course, Cliff Douglas Tally Valley Gold Course or Burleigh Palms course.
Surfing - With some of the best point breaks in Australia, home of the Quiksilver & Roxy Pro's, Kirra - the spiritual home of Surfing and a place that many men's and women's surfing legends call home, the Southern Gold Coast is the place to find the best waves for all levels of skill. Swimming - Competitive ocean swimming such as the Cooly Classic is a great way to test your mettle or you just find a beach or creek to enjoy a swim.
Body Surfing - With eight patrolled beaches, the Southern Gold Coast has fantastic places to get out there and enjoy a good old body surf! Hassle free surfing, no wax, no broken boards or fins, just watch out for those that do ride boards of any sort riding the same waves!
Body Boarding - With a whole store dedicated to body boarding (check them out here), you will find all you need to get yourself a lid and hit the waves!
Surf Life Saving Clubs - Rainbow Bay SLSC, Tweed Heads & Coolangatta SLSC, Coolangatta SLSC, Kirra SLSC, North Kirra SLSC, Tugun SLSC and Currumbin Vikings SLSC are all licensed clubs. Bilinga SLSC is the only one of the eight Surf Life Saving Clubs that do not offer a licensed Supporters Club. All of the clubs provide patrol services to their respective beaches and Nippers clubs.
Stand Up Paddle Boarding - Currumbin Creek is a fantastic place to learn how to Stand Up Paddle Board. Not surprisingly, World Champion Paddle Boarder, Jaime Mitchell calls the Southern Gold Coast home. Roar Industries, JM Surf, Boastshed Bait & Tackle are but a few places for you to hire boards and or lessons to join the flocks of people getting into this new sport for fun and competitively!
Kite Surfing - So many beaches to Kite Surf and great north facing beaches to get your adrenaline pumping! Check out Sky High Kite Surfing or Roar Industries for lessons!
Canoeing & Boating - Another great activity to do whilst enjoying the beautiful Currumbin Creek estuary. Explore the canals, pack a picnic and pull in to one of the sprawling parks that line the creek and make a day of it! Check out Gecko Party Pontoons on Currumbin Creek for all your hire needs including paddle/pedal boats, tinnies, pontoons with and without BBQ's for your boating pleasure! If you have your own boat there are plenty of boat ramps to get you out on the water and on your way!
Skating - Tugun skate park at Betty Diamond Sports Complex Boyd ST Tugun, has great bowls and rails for you to skate til your hearts content.
BMX - Betty Diamond Sports complex on Boyd ST Tugun has a BMX track for you to cut sick on til you're all BMX'd out!
Bike riding - with bike paths along the beachfront that stretch for over 4kms at a time, mountain roads to test your mettle and off road tracks to kick up some dust, there's plenty of options for you to get on your bike and ride into the sunset!

Triathlon - the Southern Gold Coast is the perfect place to train for your next triathlon. With plenty of long stretches of soft sand, amazing beaches and plenty of running tracks that line the coast, the Southern Gold Coast is an inspiring place for you to train for your next event.
Tennis - Currumbin Creek Rd just near the Currumbin RSL or Coolangatta Rd Kirra, enjoy a friendly match while burning some calories.
