The Tugun Progress Association met for their annual meeting on Wednesday 5 October, welcoming several new committee members and formalising executive positions.
During the year, the association welcomed Nadia Sunde to the position of President and also welcomed Anthony Steinfort to the Committee. At the meeting, nominations for all positions were received, with Philip Follent stepping up as Vice President, Glenda Threlfall as Secretary and Adam Gilltrap and Garth Threlfall also joining the Committee.
Connecting Southern Gold Coast CEO, Peter Doggett presented at the meeting, giving an insight into the work done by the organisation in fostering economic development and promoting tourism in the region. He outlined the numerous upcoming major community events in the lead up to the 2018 Commonwealth Games.
Councillor Gail O’Neill gave updates on Division 14 council matters including the Oceanway, Currumbin Alley car park improvements, Kropp Park Bridge and walkway and the resurfacing of Golden Four Drive.
