The annual Tugun Lights Up is returning for is 7th year in 2019, kicking off with a family-friendly street party in Toolona Street on Saturday 30 November as the Tugun Village businesses light up for the month of December.
A highlight of the Tugun calendar, the event has received strong support from the local business community in 2019, with shopfronts again set to light up to spread the joy of Christmas.
The Tugun Lights Up street party will commence with market stalls and Christmas entertainment from 4pm on Saturday 30 November, followed by dining under the Toolona Street fig trees with several local restaurants offering special $10 ‘grab and go’ meals on the night until 8:30pm.
Grab a map and walk the Tugun Trail to collect stamps from all five Check Points at the participating businesses along the trail, then vote for your favourite window display and drop your form in Santa’s red letter box for the chance to win a $500 bank account from Tugun Community Bank, which will be drawn on the night.
An initiative of Connecting Southern Gold Coast in conjunction with the Tugun Progress Association, the event is proudly supported by Division 14 Councillor Gail O’Neill and has grown from strength to strength over the years.
Tugun Community Bank Branch Bendigo Bank will again be sponsoring the lighting of the Giving Tree in Toolona Street, and the Blenkins Group have come on board to ensure the event’s success for another year.
Many thanks go to the supporting businesses including Living Temple Church, Ray White Tugun, BP Tugun, McDonald’s Tugun and Madonna Delaney Real Estate. Thanks also to Shipley Crozier and Jann Stuckey MP for their support.
