Surf World Gold Coast has announced the appointment of Andrew McKinnon as the new President.
The former 1988 World ISA Longboard Champion and Chair of the Gold Coast World Surfing Reserve Inc. has taken over the reins from Chairman of the last two years, Rob Ryan, who resigned on Tuesday 9 April due to poor health.
Andy Mac becomes the third chairman from founding chairman Mal Sutherland who established Queensland’s first Surfing Museum in 2009 and was President up until 2018.
Other new appointments include Patron Peter Harris (1980 Burleigh Stubbies winner) who joins the Committee and is an integral part of a new subcommittee for curating.
We thank Rob for his contribution to Surf World and wish him a speedy recovery. We also wish Andy and Peter the best of luck in their new roles.
