As the Gold Coast 2018 Commonwealth Games comes to town from 4 - 15 April, the Southern Gold Coast will play host to numerous events in some of the Gold Coast’s most picturesque settings; Coolangatta and Currumbin.
Coolangatta will be transformed into a Beach Volleyball hub during the Games, with the Commonwealth’s best athletes competing on our beachfront stage.
With all eyes on Coolangatta for the Beach Volleyball events, everyone can enjoy the free Coolangatta Beach Volleyball courts, located directly in front of The Strand during the Games with the Community Beach Volleyball Program.
From 9:00am to 5:00pm from Friday 6 – Sunday 15 April, the courts will be set up for free public access. Simply sign in at the Volleyball Queensland Tent, get a ball and play! Free Come and Try coaching sessions will also be held from 9am – 10am and 2pm – 3pm daily, giving locals and visitors of all ages the opportunity to try the sport, learn some new skills from the experienced coaches and showcase Coolangatta’s beachside beauty.
