The southern Gold Coast is preparing to play host to several events in the 2018 Commonwealth Games, including the Cycling Time Trial and the Race Walk.
Both gold medal events will be on show and open to the public for free in one of the Gold Coast’s most picturesque locations, as 1.5 billion people from across the globe tune in on their television screens.
These events will give our local community the opportunity to not only experience the world-class event and Australia’s largest sporting event this decade for no cost, but also supporting our Australian athletes all on our doorsteps.
The exact routes are currently being planned, with all the program details set to be announced in 2017.
Locals are encouraged to circle the dates in their calendars and get amongst the Olympic spirit to not only show off our spectacular region but the warmth of the people that live here.
The Gold Coast 2018 Commonwealth Games will be held from 4-15 April 2018.
