Local tourism and travel industry network, Skal International Southern Gold Coast, turns 5 this month.
Chartered on 22 March, 2014, the formation of the club was facilitated by then Connecting Southern Gold Coast CEO Peter Doggett in January 2014. A long-standing member of Skål Gold Coast, the sponsoring Club, Mr Doggett saw the need to create a meaningful network of tourism professionals from Burleigh to Byron Bay.
Over the past 5 years, Skal International Southern Gold Coast has brought together a diverse range of tourism and travel professionals on the Southern Gold Coast and in the Northern Rivers region of New South Wales – from the accommodation and aviation sector, to events, attractions and transport.
Skål is a professional organisation of tourism leaders around the world, promoting global tourism and friendship. It is the only international group uniting all branches of the travel and tourism industry. Its members, the industry’s managers and executives, meet at local, national, regional and international levels to discuss and pursue topics of common interest.
Congratulations to the Club, past presidents Lance Smith, Peter Doggett and Richard Doggett, committee members and supporters of the club on this milestone.
Skal International Southern Gold Coast meets on the third Tuesday of the month at Currumbin RSL for a breakfast meeting from 7am to 9am.
