QLD Govt Gives Green Light for Iconic Surf Event

The Queensland Government has confirmed their support of the WSL Quiksilver and Roxy Pro at Snapper Rocks through to 2018, with the event set to take over the Southern Gold Coast once again this year from 14 – 25 March, 2017.

One of the most iconic surf competitions and the first stop on the Samsung Galaxy Championship Tour, surfers and spectators from around the region and the world will converge on the famous Coolangatta break.

The event attracts some of the biggest names in male and female surfing as they battle on the waves for the coveted title, including locals Mick Fanning, Stephanie Gilmore and Joel Parkinson along with current World Champion John John Florence from Hawaii, and 11-time World Champion, Kelly Slater.

The action isn’t only out on the water – with onshore side events and a wide range of entertainment for the whole family to enjoy over 12 massive days.
