Southern Gold Coast and Northern NSW tourism operators attended the first Asian Inbound Tourism Symposium held by Connecting Southern Gold Coast and Destination Tweed at Southern Cross University last week.
The first collaborative cross border event for the tourism sector held by CSGC and Destination Tweed, the event was a resounding success with operators from across the region - as far north as Brisbane and as far south as Byron Bay - learning valuable information about current tourism trends and ways to attract key Asian markets from the informative guest speakers.
Attendees heard from Michael Curtis - Business Development Manager (International) at Gold Coast Airport, as well as Trent Banfield- Manager International Operations & Aviation Development at Tourism Australia, and Anna Taylor - National Membership & Policy Manager at the Australian Tourism Export Council (ATEC).
This introduction to inbound tourism is expected to be followed by another Symposium event in November at Southern Cross University with new guest speakers drawn from the inbound sector including several Inbound Tour Operators dealing in the Asian inbound markets. Keep an eye out for the announcement in our e-newsletter.
