Love to Ride Cycling Challenge Encourages Active Workplaces

Posted on Tuesday, September 20, 2016

Love to Ride is a free workplace cycling challenge during November which aims to get more Gold Coasters cycling around our beautiful city. There are hundreds of prizes to be won, including movie tickets, bikes, morning tea and more. All you have to do is ride for just 10 minutes and log your ride to win.

Not only does cycling help your health and fitness, but riding can reduce your travel costs and increase your travel options.

Getting involved is easy.

  • Register online, it’s free.
  • Ride for 10 minutes or more to win.
  • Recruit friends and workmates.
  • Lots of great prizes for teams and individuals.

Register at cityofgoldcoast.com.au/lovetoride

This year the challenge will be running from 1 – 30 November.

In October 2015, 66 companies and 977 people, including 336 new riders, participated in the challenge. Altogether, Gold Coasters rode 77,365 kilometres, or five times around Australia – and council are looking to beat that this year.

What are the benefits to workplaces?

  • Love to Ride is a free team building program.
  • Get more of your employees cycling.
  • Reduce your employees’ weekly commute costs.
  • Reduce local congestion.
  • Healthier and happier employees are more productive and take less sick days.
