Local Skydivers Get Set for World Parachuting Championships

Kirra based business, Gold Coast Skydive will see its owner Archie Jamieson and General Manager Alana Bertram gear up to compete at the World Parachuting Championships at Runaway Bay from 6 – 13 October.

The pair will compete in the Artistic Freestyle category, an extreme version of gymnastics at terminal velocity.

The 7 round competition will see them perform five free routines of their own choosing, followed by two compulsory rounds where they are required to complete certain moves. In preparation for the event, Archie and Alana have completed 1000 jumps and 60 hours in a wind tunnel.

Archie and Alana came in 2nd at the 2018 National Skydiving Championships in Victoria, qualifying them for the World Parachuting Championships.

We wish the pair the best of luck for the championships in October.
