The Southern Gold Coast is home to two national skydiving champions – Gold Coast Skydive owner Archie Jamieson and General Manager Alana Bertram have taken out Gold in the Australian Skydiving Nationals.
The pair recently competed at 14,000 feet in the Artistic Freestyle competition, an extreme version of gymnastics at terminal velocity.
After less than a year of training and the first time the duo had competed together, the Kirra skydivers have beaten Australia’s best, taking out the highest team cumulative score at the completion of the rounds.
Archie and Alana will now take on more than 500 jumps and 30 hours in a wind tunnel as they set their sights on the International Championships which will come to Runaway Bay next year.
We wish the pair the best of luck and look forward to following their journey to the finals in 2018.
