Posted on Friday, June 27, 2014

The retro La Costa Motel at Bilinga, opposite the Gold Coast Airport, has been judged Queensland’s best budget hotel on leading travel website TripAdvisor. Owners John and Diane Cartmill also received the honour of Queensland’s most outstanding service for their tireless efforts.

It’s fantastic to see recognition for our small operators in the tourism industry. John and Diane Cartmill, owners of the retro La Costa Motel at Bilinga have taken out the top title of Queensland’s best budget hotel, and the state’s most outstanding service according to international travel review website, TripAdvisor. That’s not all – with hundreds of positive reviews, La Costa Motel is now ranked as the third best bargain hotel in the South Pacific!

Once an original 1950s Gold Coast motel, the now-renovated 12-room budget hotel La Costa Motel also featured in this year’s Bleach* Festival as part of the Fibro Coast Exhibition, which celebrated the history of the Gold Coast’s original beach shack style hotels and motels. Congratulations to John and Diane on these well-deserved awards, and for continuing to provide outstanding hospitality for visitors to our beautiful Southern Gold Coast region.
