Work has commenced on council’s Kirra Boardwalk renewal project which will affect traffic around Kirra Headland for several months.
Due to piling works, a road closure will be in place from Monday 30 September through to mid-November restricting all regular vehicle traffic from accessing the road around Kirra Headland in and out of Coolangatta.
The road width will be reduced to one lane for the contraflow of buses only. Pedestrians and cyclists will be provided access throughout the road closure. Other vehicles will be detoured via Tweed Street. This traffic management scheme will last between 4-6 weeks.
A map of the road closure detour can be viewed here.
The construction works will continue for approximately 4 months. For more information, visit the City of Gold Coast Projects website.
