The famous ‘Singing Barista’ and owner or Groove Café at Tugun, James Park, is starting a new afterhours venture, with ‘Hidden’ wine bar opening later in June. The bar lives up to its name in speakeasy style, set up behind the Groove Café on Golden Four Drive.
Following the surge of popular bars and eateries opening up along the central Gold Coast suburbs, Hidden is the first of its kind for Tugun and will serve up a tantalizing combination of quality tapas paired with an extensive wine list, cocktails, and craft beers from Burleigh Brewing and Stone & Wood.
Set to be open Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights, the venue will feature live music acts each night from jazz and blues to the operatic vocals of James himself.
The tucked-away location will add to the allure of the bar – hinting at a throwback to the days of prohibition. Having once been a clothing shop, the space has since sat empty for five years before James took on the idea to bring a slice of the night life to Tugun for the locals to enjoy.
We wish James all the best in the final stages, and look forward to sharing more news around the opening.
