Gold Coast locals are being invited to join a nationwide photography competition to showcase why our city is one of the best places in the world to live.
The Give It Your Best Shot competition, launched on March 14, is an opportunity for talented residents of participating Australian and southwest Chinese sister cities to showcase their hometown to their sister citizens abroad.
In 2016 the competition theme is “Capture a Piece of Home”, and entries by Gold Coast residents will be partnered with those of our Southwest China sister city, Chengdu.
The cities of Gold Coast and Chengdu have been Friendly cities since the 21st of October, 2014.
Local photographers can enter by sharing a photograph that showcases the local landscape, customs and culture that give others a glimpse into our life on the Gold Coast.
Shortlisted photographers will be invited to have their works displayed in their sister-city at a community exhibition.
One winning photographer from Australia and one from China will win return economy flights and up to a seven days accommodation in their hometown’s sister-city so they can “see it like a local”.
All photographs must be submitted online at www.sistercitycompetition.com.au
or through the Fotor mobile application (Available on Apple Store and Android Marketplace).
Entries close on 14 April 2016.
All participants must:
- Be an Australian or Chinese national;
