Posted on Thursday, October 05, 2017

Residents can now get a special behind the scenes look at the Gold Coast 2018 Commonwealth Games preparation in a series of events being held at City Libraries.

Bookings are now open for the first two events in October, both to be held at Robina Library on Wednesday 25 October, and Wednesday 15 November from 6.30pm to 7.30pm.

From operating the Games Village and handling the world's media to the role of venues and athlete preparation, the 2018 Inside Scoop series will uncover the details behind the City’s biggest ever international event.

Seven events will be held from October 2017 to March 2018, supported by Gold Coast 2018 Commonwealth Games Corporation (GOLDOC) and Griffith University.

Gold Coast Mayor Tom Tate said it was a great opportunity for residents to get the inside story from the key people organising the Games.

“Excitement is really starting to build now and this is your chance to hear from those people who are in the thick of it working hard to make sure these are the best Games ever,” Mayor Tate said.

The first of the free event is in October and will detail a day at the Athletes Village during Games time.
