‘Food Mecca’ Coming to The Strand

Posted on Monday, September 29, 2014

The Strand at Coolangatta, formerly Showcase on the Beach, has signed some big names in the restaurant scene from Sydney and the Gold Coast to join the brand new Dining Precinct opening on Level 1 in November.

Highly acclaimed Gold Coast chef, Daniel Ridgeway, the mastermind behind Bin 12 at Burleigh’s James Street and Little Truffle at Mermaid Beach, will open Bin 72 in Coolangatta; with tapas-style set menus and a la carte dining, providing an enticing mix of European and Japanese fusion.

Owners of Absynthe French Restaurant in Surfers Paradise, Meyjitte Boughenout and Arnault Ollivier, are set to delight diners with their new gourmet burger concept, Burger Trap, to open at The Strand. Locally-sourced, organic produce will be on the menu, with a focus on bringing healthy ingredients back into burgers.

Award-winning Middle Eastern restaurant Kazbah, from Sydney, will be joining the menu at The Strand, offering modern Middle Eastern cuisine with a unique Gold Coast feel.

Also from Sydney, cult sensation Gelato Messina will be bringing their famous flavours to The Strand – their first Queensland store, which will open in February 2015.

Get ready for sensational food with incredible views looking out over Coolangatta Beach – the revitalised centre will be the place to be this summer.
