There are a lot of exciting works and events happening on the Southern Gold Coast over the coming months. Keep up to date with what's on by following my updates on

Funding for the project is expected to be approved when the Budget is handed down on 21 June. For more information click here.

Black Spot Programme, Intersection Upgrade Kitchener Street, Monash Street and Malparara Street
Funding has been awarded from the Australian Government’s Black Spot Programme to improve road safety at the intersection of Kitchener Street, Monash Street and Malparara Street in Tugun. The construction of a new roundabout will replace the existing priority controlled intersection. Also included in these works is the construction of the road pavement, drainage, kerb and channel and a street lighting upgrade.

Golden Four Drive, Road Upgrades
Additional parking will be installed on the western side of Golden Four Drive between Dune Street and Short Street. Plans for works along Golden Four Drive between Short Street and Gibson Street are complete and are due to commence from 1 July with the majority of parking to remain.

Reconstruction Works, Currumbin Creek - Tomewin Mountain Road
The Department of Main Roads has commenced reconstruction works on Currumbin Creek - Tomewin Mountain Road following severe Tropical Cyclone Debbie. Working hours will be 6am to 6pm, Monday to Friday with weekend and night work as required. All restoration works on Currumbin Creek - Tomewin Mountain Road are expected to be completed by late 2018.

For an estimated three month period during the reconstruction works, Currumbin Creek - Tomewin Mountain Road will be reduced to one-lane in several locations with traffic controlled by temporary signals. The project team will provide further details to residents and motorists about work schedules and associated construction impacts as the project progresses.

Winders Park, Currumbin
Two (2) speed humps will be installed along the road within Winders Park to deter speeding. These works are due to commence shortly.

Kitchener Street to Boyd Street Drainage
Due to wet weather delays, the Kitchener Street to Boyd Street drain has now been completed.
