The Masters Road National Championships were held in Currumbin on Sunday 29 October, a test event to prepare the city and the region for the Gold Coast 2018 Commonwealth Games in April.

CSGC CEO, Peter Doggett, was invited to present the medals to the Women’s Masters champions and took a lap of the picturesque 18.7km course.

“It’s very picturesque indeed and will look spectacular from the air as it starts and finishes at Currumbin Beach, but also straddles Currumbin Creek and The Alley,” said Mr Doggett.

The cyclists were full of praise for the circuit and the race attracted plenty of bystanders along the course or sitting on their balconies to watch the race passing by.
