Currumbin RSL’s Soundlounge Turns 15

Posted on Friday, March 01, 2019

Currumbin RSL celebrated the 15th birthday of its entertainment hub, Soundlounge in February.

Born out of a conversation between Anne Stovin, Rob Bare and Ben Treby in 2004, Soundlounge was created from their mutual passion and support of the local music scene.

Over the past 15 years, Soundlounge has provided a venue for local and emerging artists as well as a range of national and international musicians, bringing quality music of all kinds to people of all musical persuasions to the Gold Coast.

Anne Stovin said, “Over the years we have hosted many great artists and as CEO of Currumbin RSL I have been proud to be associated with the Soundlounge brand. While many clubs try and change their names to attract new markets, we changed what we offered and through the Soundlounge many people visited the club who would never have before. We were able to grow our Currumbin community by providing diversity of music.”

Anne adds, ‘Lots of people have contributed to keeping Soundlounge going and it is that community of people who I want to thank and celebrate 15 years of operation with. Not to mention the supporters who have turned up to the shows – without you we wouldn’t still be going.
