The Board of Connecting Southern Gold Coast (CSGC) has announced the appointment of Josh Martin as the organisation’s new CEO, following the retirement of Peter Doggett.
Mr Martin joins CSGC with a proven track record of event management having worked with sports management company, IMG, and more recently with the Gold Coast Suns, where he oversaw the club’s events and match day experience.
Chair of CSGC, Greg Jenke, welcome Mr Martin to the role. “A born and bred Gold Coaster, Josh brings a passion for the region and a desire to work with our existing team to take events such as Cooly Rocks On™ into the future and continue their success.”
Mr Martin will commence a period of handover with outgoing CEO Peter Doggett from Tuesday 29 January, 2019.
Mr Doggett announced his retirement last week following more than 30 years in the tourism industry, with the past six years at the helm of CSGC, effective 22 February, 2019.
“I would like to take this opportunity to thank Peter for his enormous contribution to CSGC and to the Southern Gold Coast in general and again on behalf the Board wish him all the very best in his retirement,” said Mr Jenke.
"Peter is highly respected within the tourism and events industry and has a lot to be proud of in his time at Connecting Southern Gold Coast," said Mr Martin. "He leaves our organisation and events portfolio in great shape and we look forward to building on this legacy as he enjoys his well-earned retirement.
"Personally, I’m excited for the future of our vibrant Southern Gold Coast region and look forward to growing the major events program and showcasing our fantastic traders and businesses in what I know is the best part of the Gold Coast!"
