Connecting Southern Gold Coast met with directors and key stakeholders from Destination Tweed in June to discuss common opportunities for building the strength of our adjoining destinations.
The meeting was attended by CSGC Chair, Anne Stovin, Tweed Shire Council Mayor Katie Milne, Destination Tweed Chair, Aymon Gow, and City of Gold Coast Division 14 Councillor Gail O’Neill (all pictured) as well as key operational staff, with six representatives from each organisation present.
It was an extremely positive meeting following from the MOU by CSGC and Destination Tweed to jointly promote the destinations of Southern Gold Coast and Tweed.
Outcomes included the determination to conduct an Inbound Tourism Symposium at Southern Cross University on Thursday 7 September 2017. Save the date, with more details to follow.
The group also looked at hosting joint sporting events that would benefit both regions, such as cycling, and further ways to promote the Green Cauldron region around Murwillumbah and Tomewin Mountain.
