Cooly Rocks On™ Gives Buskers a Chance to Shine

Posted on Tuesday, May 09, 2017

Reckon you’ve got what it takes to shake, rattle and roll alongside the nation’s best rock, rockabilly and swing performers?

Connecting Southern Gold Coast is searching for buskers to perform at Cooly Rocks On™, a celebration of all things 1950s and 60s at Coolangatta, Kirra and Tweed Heads from 7-11 June.

Registrations have opened ahead of invitational auditions that will be staged on Thursday 18 May from 5pm.

Free busking licenses will be issued to the acts selected to perform at eight busking stations set up in the Cooly Rocks On™ festival precinct during the festival.

Precedence will be given to acts that fit with the family festival’s rock’n’roll and rockabilly theming.

We’re looking for singers, dancers, comics and variety acts with star quality, to busk at eight locations within the festival precinct, with both solo and group performers invited to audition.

Busking auditions will be held from 5pm on Thursday 18 May, 2017.

Busking permits will be determined and supplied by Connecting Southern Gold Coast, and will be free this year to all successful applicants. All buskers will be bound by the City of Gold Coast busking guidelines.

Register for an audition at coolyrockson.com/event-guide/busking/
