The Southern Gold Coast’s biggest annual festival, Cooly Rocks On, swept through town for 10 days in June, attracting crowds of more than 95,000 people from all over the country to our region to celebrate everything 50s and 60s.
More than 1,100 hot rods and custom cars, swing and rockabilly dancers, live entertainment and vendors lined Coolangatta’s Marine Parade for the country’s biggest 50s and 60s nostalgia festival.
Several new events were added this year including the Drive-in Movies and the Pedal Car Show ‘n’ Shine, proving to be a success with the crowds. The old favourites also returned and entertained the masses including the signature Street Parade.
As has happened in previous years, many accommodation houses have reported solid repeat bookings for the 2017 festival – a great boost to forward bookings during the quieter months of the year.Keep an eye out for the announcement of dates for Cooly Rocks On 2017.
