Division 14 has a new Councillor-Elect following the Local Government elections on March 19, Gail O'Neill. Gail will be a well-known face to many in the southern business community particularly as President of the Southern Chamber of Commerce and Chair of Cooly Rocks On. To be gazetted on Tuesday, 5 April, Gail moves into her role as the elected representative to replace outgoing Councillor, Chris Robbins.
Members of the Southern Gold Coast business community turned out last month to thank Councillor Robbins for her 11 years of hard work and dedication to Division 14 and the promotion of the Southern Gold Coast. There is little doubt our most southerly region received an increasing presence and share of voice in the Council chambers under Chris’s watch.
We have every confidence in our new Councillor that she will continue to actively ensure awareness of the Southern Gold Coast, and that Division 14 will continue to attract the attention it deserves as a great place to live, work and do business on the Gold Coast.
Best of luck to Gail in this new role, and we wish Chris a restful year, and all the best for the future.
