Changed Traffic Conditions During Masters Road National Championships

Posted on Wednesday, October 04, 2017

On Sunday 29 October, Australia’s best cyclists will compete in the Masters Road National Championships, an 18.7 km loop closed-road race from the Currumbin Beachfront to Elanora and out through Currumbin Valley.

To ensure safety and the smooth running of this competition there will be temporary changes to traffic, parking, public transport and access to some areas in Currumbin, Currumbin Waters and Elanora.

If you have to travel during this time, please be aware that the roads will be busier than usual and locals are encouraged to plan ahead and leave plenty of time for their journey. Pedestrian access will be maintained along the race route, so walking and cycling may be better options to access local areas.

This is the same route that will be used during the official Gold Coast 2018 Commonwealth Games and will act as an operational trial to test the course and implement key components ahead of GC2018.
