Currumbin’s own Balter Brewing Company has taken out multiple awards at the Australian International Beer Awards (AIBA) in Melbourne.
Held in May, Balter took home Champion Large Australian Brewery, Champion International Pale Ale with Strong Pale Ale plus three Gold, three Silver and six Bronze medals which saw all their beers awarded.
The largest annual beer competition in the world saw almost 2,600 entries this year from more than 400 breweries across 26 countries.
Started by local and world champion surfers Mick Fanning, Joel Parkinson, Bede Durbidge and Josh Kerr, the brewery opened its doors in April 2016 and has now grown its compliment of craft beers to a total of eight and counting.
We congratulate Balter Brewing Company on their ongoing success and for putting Currumbin firmly on the craft beer map.
