RSL Seeks Crowdfunding Support for ANZAC Service

Posted on Friday, March 25, 2016

The ANZAC Day Dawn Service at Currumbin is an iconic event which attracts thousands to Elephant Rock each year – with images of the service beamed across the world.

The Currumbin RSL has contributed more than $240,000 to hosting the dawn and mid-morning services and as the attendance numbers grow, so do the costs of running this world class event.

These high costs are unsustainable for the RSL to run a single annual event, and their hope is to reallocate some of these funds to the veteran’s support services to support defence force personnel who have returned from conflict with psychological trauma or physical wounds.

In order to do so, the Currumbin RSL are seeking the support of the community to ensure the ongoing success of the ANZAC Day services as well as the necessary support to those who continue to serve in conflicts.
