The importance of websites, blogs and social media (online presence) to your business
We have received quite a few enquiries from small businesses in the SGC wanting to know about how they can develop an online presence to both improve communications with their existing customers and to attract new customers.
The days of print/electronic and radio advertising being the only way of getting your brand out into the market place are long gone, in terms of cost effectiveness for most small businesses.
An online presence properly developed and managed is a great opportunity for all small businesses in the Southern Gold Coast.
I asked Rachael Cannard, our Communications Manager, to write an article about options in developing an online presence.
Rachael has written an easy-to-read article which I believe should be read by all our small businesses to assist your understanding of your options and open up online opportunities for your business. Click here to read the article and find out more!
Events & Festivals in the Southern Gold Coast (SGC)
It is not widely appreciated that the SGC has more events & festivals than perhaps other regions of the Gold Coast, each and every year. We have numerous sporting events and cultural festivals such as Quiksilver & Roxy Pro, D’Alliance Fringe Festival, Cooly Rocks On, Swell Sculpture Festival, Kirra Kite Festival and Kirra SurfStock, Rhythm Kirra Teams Challenge, Chiko MP Classic and Chiko Alley Classic, just name a few. Not to mention a very vibrant nightlife in the region, this brings many well known national and international artists to our shores.
These events and festivals bring many visitors and many millions of dollars to the SGC each year from outside the region. I am appealing to all readers of my column to actively promote the SGC and its events and festivals via their own websites/social media pages, for example, if all of the approx 20k plus residents of the SGC put an active link to our website www.southerngoldcoast.com.au on their websites/social pages, just think of what a powerful marketing tool that could be for all businesses in the SGC.
Likewise, if feel you need some direction on how to do this, please give Rachael Cannard of our office a call.
