Canadian Travel Agents Converge on Coolangatta

Posted on Monday, November 06, 2017

A group of around 120 Canadian Flight Centre travel agents converged on Coolangatta this month, hitting the sand and the waves for a true Southern Gold Coast experience.

About 75 agents spent an enjoyable morning learning to surf at Kirra Beach and learning the ropes at the Coolangatta Beach Volleyball courts, taking part in the Commonwealth Games sport in the lead up to the event being hosted in Coolangatta in April 2018.

The courts were installed by Connecting Southern Gold Coast in July 2016 to provide a free activity and resource for the local community and general public, supported by The Strand at Coolangatta.

It was fantastic to see the group enjoying some of the Southern Gold Coast's most iconic activities as part of the mega famil organised by Tourism Events Queensland (TEQ) in partnership with Flight Centre Canada.

The group also visited Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary and other Gold Coast attractions, and will spend 7 days on Australia's East Coast, travelling on to Byron Bay and Sydney.
