Currumbin’s Dust Temple will join the fight against hunter by hosting the Empty Bowls Gold Coast event from 4:30pm on Saturday 15 September.
The event will see local potters creating and donating bowls before guests purchase a bowl of their choice as a reminder of all those without food across the globe. In exchange for a simple meal donated by a local restaurant and the bowl, guests contribute a donation with 100% of the proceeds going towards local hunger-fighting charity, Agape Outreach Inc.
Originally founded in the USA in the 1990s, Empty Bowls is now an international project to fight hunger, supported by artists, mainly potters within a community. The initiative supports food related charities around the world and has raised millions of dollars to aid in the fight against hunger.
More details will be released closer to the date, however you stay up to date on Instagram at @emptybowls.gc.
