Chris Walton and his wife Kerry established and built The Eco Village in Currumbin Valley (www.theecovillage.com.au), a model residential estate that exemplified “World’s Best Practice” in sustainable development. It has now won 26 local, state, federal and global awards for Industry and Government, including the highest honour in world real estate, the International Real Estate Prix d’Excellence for Environmental Development in 2008.

Chris’ expertise in property, his efforts in sharing sustainability and his learnings through public and industry education have earned him the inaugural Queensland State Minister/Premier’s Award for Leadership in Business Sustainability and the City of the Gold Coast’s Mayor’s Award for Environmental Achievement.

Andy Kidd holds Master of Arts in Social Anthropology, and has travelled widely. He has volunteered as project manager of Fair Trade and Sustainable Development in Africa; he has lived with a hunter gathering tribe and researched the livelihood of subsistence fishing communities in the Philippines; he has joined a desert reclamation project in Spain. These and other endeavours have taught him about the necessity of education in regards to our relationship with our environment. Andy recently worked with the Department of Energy and Water as a sustainability educator, and now offers his experience to the business community.
