Connecting Southern Gold Coast is a Controlled Entity of the City of Gold Coast, established in 2008 as a tourism and economic development body covering the area from Currumbin and the Currumbin Valley down to Rainbow Bay.
CSGC’s role is to foster economic development through regional promotion and marketing, business support and managing events that stimulate tourism and community participation on the Southern Gold Coast.
The organisation is independently governed by a Board of Directors, representing a diverse range of business and professional backgrounds, including retail, property, tourism and academia.
An executive team also runs the day to day operation of Connecting Southern Gold Coast from the CSGC office – promoting business, lifestyle, tourism, and events within the eight villages of Currumbin, Currumbin Valley, Currumbin Waters, Tugun, Bilinga, Kirra, Coolangatta and Rainbow Bay.
Greg is the Chief Executive Officer of John Flynn Private Hospital a 345 bed private hospital on the Gold Coast in Queensland for Ramsay Healthcare. In this role he oversees the strategic and operational performance of the hospital which is a medical/surgical obstetric/rehab facility which also includes an ED, ICU,CCU, 13 operating theatres, Cath labs, renal unit and over 50 on site practises.
Greg has performed various health, service, development and planning roles for the communities in which he has worked around Australia. Having had experience managing health organisations both large and small, public and private, he understands the importance of providing an excellent service to the community by motivated and customer focused staff whilst maintaining a result oriented focus in accordance with business imperatives.

After diverging from teaching to Financial Planning and Project Marketing John moved to the Gold Coast with his wife and 3 children in 1992 to further his career in Property Development. John is now a co-owner/principal of Armstrong Real Estate Agency in both Kirra and Geelong and travels frequently interstate to promote financial, superannuation and property opportunities throughout Queensland.
John’s business and personal interests are diverse. He is proud of the development of the Armstrong Indigenous Property Group which is helping to educate and give back to the Australian Indigenous community nationwide. It is through John’s extensive range of personal, sporting and business network connections that he has successfully created liaisons that support the growth of other businesses in the local community and interstate while balancing a professional and family life here on the Southern Gold Coast.

Councillor (Cr) Gail O'Neill is the newly elected Councillor for Division 14, City of Gold Coast.
She has had extensive experience in the hospitality industry, having been General Manager of the Beach House Seaside Resort and Commercial Shopping Plaza in Coolangatta for the past 15 years. She also held the voluntary position of President of Southern Gold Coast Chamber of Commerce for seven years and Chair of Cooly Rocks On Festival for its first four years.
Cr O'Neill represented the Chamber of Commerce on Council's Southern Gateway Advisory Committee and Queensland Chamber of Commerce & Industry Regional Board. Cr O'Neill is passionate about balancing progress and lifestyle in Southern Gold Coast.

Elizabeth is a Professor and Head of the School of Tourism and Hospitality Management at Southern Cross University, based at the Southern Gold Coast campus. Formerly the Foundation Head of the School of Hotel, Resort and Tourism Management at Bond University on the Gold Coast, Elizabeth has led an extensive career in tourism spanning 30 years and several countries – including France, New Zealand, and her native USA.
Elizabeth has a PhD in Classical Rhetoric and Composition from Purdue University in the USA, and her expansive academic career has led her to be widely respected in the tourism industry.

Ben is a Chartered Accountant and Commercial and Tax lawyer with his own business located in Tugun. This combination of skills allows him to provide comprehensive advice to local business. He has over 17 years providing advice to both small and large business both on the Gold Coast and overseas.
He has worked as an accountant on the Gold Coast in excess of 10 years and as a lawyer in Australia and the UK, advising on pensions, taxation and commercial law matters. Ben has a Masters of Taxation and extensive experience in Financial Planning.

Jason, his wife Nicole and young family are proud Southern Gold Coast residents. Jason holds the position as Director, Destination and Corporate Partnerships for Gold Coast Tourism/Tourism and Events Queensland.
His twenty- five years of global experience includes destination marketing, travel retail, export, business development and local government. Jason serves on several State and Regional business advisory groups and committees and is driven to create a better future for his two young children and others who are fortunate enough to call the Gold Coast home.

Geoff has practiced as a lawyer in the city of Gold Coast for almost 40 years, as partner, an in house corporate lawyer and now a consultant. He has acquired a wealth of experience ranging from major commercial litigation, working on significant resource projects and now more recently innovation companies.
He is member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors and the current Chairman of Sports Gold Coast a non-for-profit company committed to building a platform for local business to participate with other stakeholders in the support, development and promotion of sport in our city. Geoff has a long history supporting Gold Coast community projects and currently sits on the board of the Gold Coast Eisteddfod, Gold Coast Sporting Hall of Fame, and the Gold Coast Innovation Hub.
